In a packed meeting room, with a unanimous vote, the Venango Township Supervisors rejected the conditional use permit for the Wilson Solar project. They also voted to deny the rezoning of the two parcels that would have become part of the project.
This is a huge win for the citizens of the township and the result of a great deal of work from so many.
There may still be a response from Birch Creek, but the entire township has spoken. No grid scale solar in Venango Township.

It was the right decision. It was packed in there, but civil. Thanks to everyone for standing up for our community and yes, we have 30 days to await the company’s response and /or appeal.

The proposed 80-megawatt solar farm was planned for construction along Jones Road. Wilson Solar has 30 days to appeal supervisors’ decision. https://www.goerie.com/story/news/local/2024/01/09/venango-township-supervisors-reject-solar-farm-application-crowd-local-government-erie-county-pa/72147836007/
