Venango Township Findings of Fact and Conclusions for Wilson Solar Project Sent to Birch Creek

January 13, 2024 by Paul Crowe

The summation of the findings leading to the denial of the conditional use permit and rezoning of two parcels has been sent to the attorney for Birch Creek. Attorney Anthony Angelone wrote a detailed, point by point response explaining why the Wilson Solar project was not appropriate for, did not meet the requirements of and should not be built in Venango Township.

The letter does an excellent job of stating the facts, including the concerns of residents as presented in the public hearings. It is available at the link below.

Why would they want one here we don’t get sun for days at a time. Thank you for rejecting this. Would not benefit our township and just destroy the land

So true, Marilyn! The 30 day opportunity for Birch Creek Development, LLC to appeal the decision is February 9. Keep your fingers crossed that they have seen what you see, clouds not sun!!

Why solar developers never understand

It is difficult to get a man to understand
something, when his salary depends upon
his not understanding it.

~ Upton Sinclair

It’s not ON-demand, it’s NO-demand

Solar energy is 'no-demand' electricity.
If the sun isn't shining
and you demand electricity,
the answer is no.

Unfortunately

The less you know about grid scale solar
The more you'll like it
